Do I have to make payment now?

No. You can book your vehicle now and pay on delivery

How are my personal details protected online?

Smart Car Rental does not retain any of your details until you have confirmed your booking with us at which point you will be asked to confirm your personal details directly.

How will I know that my reservation is confirmed?

You will be contacted to confirm your booking within 48hrs. You may use the contact page for additional queries or to amend your booking

Is there an excess fee?

It is standard procedure for all car rental companies to charge an excess on claims made against loss/damage to a vehicle

Is there a cancellation fee?

If you contact us and cancel your booking upto 3 days in advance of your booking date there will be no charge for cancellation. Cancelled bookings within 3 days will attract a penalty fee equivalent to one days rental.

What happens in the event of a breakdown/accident?

A member of our mobile team will be sent to assist you and replace your vehicle (if required) to ensure minimum disurption to your stay.

What documents are required to collect my vehicle?

A confirmation of your booking will be sent to you. Please produce this document together with the credit card and the full valid drivers license used to make the booking.

Is it safe to drive in Mauritius?

Yes. Driving in Mauritius is governed my strict international standard driving laws. Main roads are completely maintained and signposted. As with all countries, visitors are advised to take extra precaution whilst travelling at night and to prepare their route in advance to ensure they arrive safely at their destination. Vehicles are required to drive on the left-hand side as per UK and Australian laws.
